The two sides of the switch are independent of each other. Typically used to activate tow accessories at the same time like horns, solenoids, latching relays, etc. 24V independent Amber lamp in the 1 position. Wired to #7, #8 24V independent Amber lamp in the 2 position. Wired to #9, #10 An independent lamp has both a positive and negative terminal as opposed to the standard switches that just have a negative terminal. Independent lamps can be lit independently of the actuator position as opposed to standard "dependent" lamps that get their power internally when the actuator moves to the "on" position 8 terminal; Terminal #7 is the ground for the lamp in 1 position and Terminal #8 is the power feed for that lamp. Terminals #2,#5 are power in. Terminals (#3),(#6) are power out. Terminal #9 is the ground for the lamp in 2 position and Terminal #10 is the power feed for that lamp This type of switch with momentary action is used for horns, windshield washers, solenoid activation, starting circuits, etc. Common for Marine, RV, automotive, and other 12 volt DC applications.
Why OEM Electrical Switches Matter
OEM electrical switches are engineered for your boat's voltage and amperage specifications. They deliver reliable operation, proper electrical protection, and long-term durability in marine environments. Using correct switches prevents electrical system failures, fires, and equipment damage.
Quality electrical components ensure system safety and reliability. Always use OEM switches rated for your boat's electrical system specifications.
Quick FAQs
Will this switch fit my boat?
Designed for Sea Ray and other standard boats. Electrical switches must match your boat's voltage and amperage specifications. Verify compatibility before ordering. Contact [email protected] with your boat model and electrical system details.
What's the difference between Single Pole and Double Pole?
Single Pole switches control one circuit. Double Pole switches control two independent circuits simultaneously. Choose based on your boat's electrical configuration. Contact [email protected] if unsure which type you need.
What's the difference between Momentary and Locking?
Momentary switches activate only while pressed. Locking (or toggle) switches stay in position until toggled again. Choose based on your application. Wrong type can cause electrical system issues.
Can I use any electrical switch?
No. Electrical switches must match your boat's voltage (12V, 24V, etc.) and amperage rating exactly. Using wrong switches risks electrical fires and system failure. Always use OEM switches rated for your specific boat system. Never substitute with automotive or general-purpose switches.
Do you have switches for older boat models?
Yes. We stock electrical switches for boats from 1980s-current production. Contact [email protected] with your boat's model year and electrical system specifications.
