Details: Intellitec 01-00055-008 100amp Latching Relay Remotely disconnects batteries for temporary or long term storageIntellitec Part #: 01-00055-008THE RELAY - How it WorksThe Battery Disconnect Relay is a mechanically latching switch that operates by the momentary application of battery voltage to the coil terminals in one direction for latching (closed) or the other direction for unlatching (open). To close the relay, +24 volts is applied to the ""I"" terminal and ground the ""S"" terminal of the relay. To open the relay, +24 volts is applied to the ""S"" terminal and ground on the ""I"" terminal. No voltage is required for the relay to stay open or closed, All it takes is a momentary application of 24 volts from a remote (ON)/OFF/(ON) switch. On most Sea Ray boats, these battery disconnect switches are located on the MDP Main distribution Panel in the cabin. The relays are built to withstand vibration and harsh marine environments.FUSESThere are two 5 Amp fuses mounted on each relay. Looking at the relay with cap at the top, the fuse on the right feeds the LED indicator and if so equipped, the digital voltmeter. The fuse on the left feeds the power to the switch that operates the solenoid. Product Specifications: Continuous Carry Current 100 Amps max. Short Term Carry Current 500 Amps (30 seconds max.) 53-00055-300-APPLICATIONS-TESTING.pdf (intellitec.com)

Why OEM Electrical Switches Matter

OEM electrical switches are engineered for your boat's voltage and amperage specifications. They deliver reliable operation, proper electrical protection, and long-term durability in marine environments. Using correct switches prevents electrical system failures, fires, and equipment damage.

Quality electrical components ensure system safety and reliability. Always use OEM switches rated for your boat's electrical system specifications.

Quick FAQs

Will this switch fit my boat?

Designed for Sea Ray and other standard boats. Electrical switches must match your boat's voltage and amperage specifications. Verify compatibility before ordering. Contact [email protected] with your boat model and electrical system details.

What's the difference between Single Pole and Double Pole?

Single Pole switches control one circuit. Double Pole switches control two independent circuits simultaneously. Choose based on your boat's electrical configuration. Contact [email protected] if unsure which type you need.

What's the difference between Momentary and Locking?

Momentary switches activate only while pressed. Locking (or toggle) switches stay in position until toggled again. Choose based on your application. Wrong type can cause electrical system issues.

Can I use any electrical switch?

No. Electrical switches must match your boat's voltage (12V, 24V, etc.) and amperage rating exactly. Using wrong switches risks electrical fires and system failure. Always use OEM switches rated for your specific boat system. Never substitute with automotive or general-purpose switches.

Do you have switches for older boat models?

Yes. We stock electrical switches for boats from 1980s-current production. Contact [email protected] with your boat's model year and electrical system specifications.
